Name.com - DNS & Forwarding
- Log in to your name.com account
- Click on Account (in the top region)
- Click on the domain name you wish to configure. Let's assume
it's hotapples.com.
- Click on URL Forwarding in the Control Panel
(on the right)
- In Point to, type your domain name with the 'www' included. So if your domain name is hotapples.com, you would type: http://www.hotapples.com.
- In Using, select "redirect URL forwarding (301)"
- Click on Update
- Click on DNS Management in the Control Panel
(on the right)
- Under Add a Record select "CNAME"
- In the first box to the right of CNAME, type: "www" only. So you'll end up with www.hotapples.com if your domain is hotapples.
- In the second box (to the right of first one), type your ZipZoomAuto domain name. For example hotapples.zipzoomautodealer.com. Note there is no http.
- Click on Submit and you should see a line
added that looks similar to this:
CNAME www.hotapples.com hotapples.zipzoomautodealer.com 300 ...
- If everything was configured correctly, you should be able to go to http://hotapples.com and it should point to your site. Of course, replace hotapples with your own domain name.
Please make sure that you've also completed the setup in your ZipZoomAuto account.
